Create Business Leverage By Letting Go

Getting what you want in business, and in the rest of life, is sometimes like getting a loan from a bank – you only get it when you don’t need it. Most people understand that attachments to issues of the past and fears of change can inhibit achieving one's goals. Additionally, my experience is that letting go of attachments to desires and future outcomes are also keys to positive change. In fact, there is significant evidence showing that continuously willing something through repetition of affirmations is not very effective – it often just provides more fuel for the state of not having. Instead, clearly set your intention, plan and do your best to make the change happen. Then on the inside, instead of continuously willing for a desired outcome, let go of the wanting along with your attachments to the status quo, which often makes us feel secure, but yet restricts us. Then watch and see what cool things happen.

“The top players in every field think differently when all the marbles are on the line. Great performers focus on what they are doing, and nothing else…They let it happen, let it go. They couldn’t care less about the results.”- John Eliot, Ph.D. Quotes from Overachievement

“Changes will occur when you are ready to let go of your need for things to be the same” – Melissa Joy and Richard Bartlett, Into the Matrix
